New Picture

The Holidays are finally over and here at benbarnesfan.com we are hoping that 2009 will be as awesome as 2008 has been for Ben!

And what a better way to start off by adding this new picture I have stumbled upon today. It’s gorgeous, check it out:

A few days ago we found out that Disney has pull out of the third Narnia installment “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” which was in pre-production and set for a spring shoot for a planned May 2010 release.

Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media have confirmed that for budgetary and logistical reasons the Burbank-based studio is not exercising its option to co-produce and co-finance The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader with Walden.

Walden has a strong relationship with the C.S. Lewis estate and will shop “Treader” in hopes of finding a new partner. The most likely candidate at this stage is Fox, which markets and distributes Walden fare under the Fox Walden banner.Source

Thanks to Megan for the news tip and let’s hope everything turns out for the best!

Ben as an Italian Vampire?

Ben as a Volturi Vampire

MTV‘s Larry Carroll just updated on the Twilight sequel “New Moon”:

MTV News has confirmed that 27-year-old “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” heartthrob Ben Barnes is throwing his hat into the ring. The actor is already quite popular with the “Twilight” fanbase and shares the same manager as both Copon and “Twilight” star Cam Gigandet. Barnes is believed to be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose “New Moon” encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together. » Read the whole article.

Ben is officially very interested on taking the role and being part of the Twilight saga.

Interview Magazine Photoshoot

Hello everyone!

Big thanks to MK for the photoshoot Ben did for the September issue of Interview Magazine, now in glorious HQ for all of you to enjoy!

Thanks to Suri for donating this scan of Ben in the Australian NW magazine:

Isociety has an interview with Ben as part of the promotion for the release of the Prince Caspian dvd. » Click here to read it.
Thanks to Blandine for the tip!

In my latest update there was an interesting discussion going on. I’m sorry for those who are tired of the topic but given that Twilight is everywhere, you cannot run or hide from it, let’s just embrace it. Would you like to see Ben in the further sequels of the movie?

Ben in Twilight? No. Hyrise & More

Good morning everyone,

We are still alive, pretty much. I believe it’s safe to say that all of us are kind of busy with the Christmas festivities approaching and a million and one papers to hand in before the end of the semester. We hope you understand!

A few days ago I woke up to the awesome news that Ben is friends with none  other than Rpattz!

The actor is also friends with another uber-hunk (?!) Prince Caspian’s Ben Barnes. Ben used to groove to soul music in high school with Rob’s older sister. Source

I’m sure the two lads can share hair tips.

However, much to my chagrin in a new interview with TeenHollywood Ben says he wanted the role of the dazzling 107 year old virgin vampire who sparks like a diamond in the sun, Edward Cullen:

I wanted to be in that Twilight film but I was too old. There’s no way I could look seventeen for the next three years.

I bet the real reason behind this is that he really wanted to drive the shiny Volvo. I give it a day until the Twilightmoms start a petition to have Ben be one of the Volturi (Italian vampires) in the Twilight sequel “New Moon”… Oh wait, there’s one already.
Anyway, make sure to read the whole interview here!

Moving on to something else…

Here’s a new picture of Ben’s four and a half minutes pop career.
