Empire Interview (at Movie-Con III)

Ben Barnes and director Michael Apted attended Movie-Con III this weekend to talk about The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader.

This was my favourite book. This is the Sinbad one – is that what you’ve gone for?

Apted: “Yes, it is a journey, it is an adventure. They aren’t in Narnia at all. The whole film is a voyage, which is a tough thing to pull off, to keep the energy going from island to island.

Barnes: “It was my favourite book too because it has that voyage element to it, like Sinbad or Jason And the Argonauts. We’ve gone slightly bigger than those films though. It’s not a papier mache dragon this time – although there was a very large papier mache rock at one point.

Seitenblicke (Austria) Scans

Many thanks to Katie for the following article and translation from the June 10th issue of Seitenblicke magazine. View the full size scans in the gallery.

Except for auditioning for a couple of bad films, I managed nothing there. So I came back to England completely broke and was eventually really happy about it. Just as well, because as you can see, everything worked out pretty well. (Laughs.)

Ben Barnes Talks ‘Dawn Treader’

In this exclusive new interview with MSN Movies, Ben talks a little about his upcoming film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader.

With the trailer for The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader debuting this week the buzz has really started, it promises to be a big Christmas release….

Yeah, I hope it is. Personally I’m quite excited that it’s going to be 3D. It’s my favourite of the seven books, I think it’s one of the best stories and it’s got some good human characters as well – I think Eustace, who Will Poulter plays brilliantly, is a really funny character. It’s got a lot of the fun magical stuff of the first ones and I’ve got some fun action stuff which is cool. It’s going to be good I think.
