Today marks Ben Barnes Fan’s first birthday! Ben Barnes Fan has been providing information, news, media and photos of Ben for a year now, and as the webmaster I wanted to thank everyone who has been visiting the fan site over the course of the year.

This Charming Prince
Ruth Hessey interviews Ben ‘Prince Caspian’ Barnes, and finds him charming
Ben Barnes is the plebeian name of the dashing gent who plays Prince Caspian, a role he says he approached, with caution. “Particularly in the US where they don’t have princes,” he says smoothly, “the whole prince thing has that ‘Charming’ stigma. I was anxious he didn’t turn into a Hollywood stereotype. He doesn’t swashbuckle in and save the day. He makes mistakes, which make him more interesting.”
Barnes has several years on the English stage behind him, and is set to star as Dorian Gray in the film of the Oscar Wilde story (directed by Oliver Parker) about a beautiful young man who makes a pact with the devil. Barnes appears to be unfazed by the fame that awaits him. “In America Dorian is just like Narnia. Americans have heard of it, but they don’t really know what it means.” It won’t be long before everyone knows what Ben Barnes means – onscreen icecream.

Hey hey!
I added 2 photos taken of Ben in a Sydney hotel room from this weekend. The photos were accompanied by this little blurb on the photographer’s blog:
Some man candy for you – here’s Ben Barnes who plays Prince Caspian in the new Chronicles of Narnia film.
This was one of those quick snaps in the hotel room jobs.
He was perfectly charming and seemed well practiced doing his brooding heart throb look. He’s well cast as Dorian Gray in a new adaptation.
