@Nightshade I want to ask you a question because you are from England )
Is Ben`s appearance type (very dark eyes, particularly) common for Englishmen?

Finally!!! The photos!! Beautiful.
@Galene, I’m not from England, but I’ve been there sometimes. About me Englishmen are very often tall and long-limbed, like Ben. But usually I think there are more guys with light-brown or blond hair and also the eyes are not frequently so dark like those of Ben.
I’m wrong Nightshade?
But in London there are a lot of beautiful man almost beautiful than Ben!!

Nightshade said:

@Galene and mamy2k4, Ben’s eyes are exceptionally dark but not uncommon in Englishmen. His hair colour is also very common but often with blue eyes as well as dark, and fair skin.

For example, I have the pale skin and very dark hair (now mixed with grey!) the same as Ben, but with blue/grey eyes. And yes there are a lot of men who are lovely and tall like Ben, but also a lot who are much shorter! I love tall men, being 5′ 8 1/2″ myself!

England has such a long history of different peoples merging – the blond types mainly coming from the Anglo Saxon invasion and darker eyes probably from the Normans. I believe the true, ancient British colouring is dark hair and dark eyes – and the blue eyes also, but true Irish colouring is most often dark hair, pale skin and blue eyes, like mine. (I have some Irish in me, I believe!)

Sorry for the long waffle, it’s hard to explain and I am not highly knowledgeable on the subject, but hope it makes some sense! In other words, Ben’s colouring and type is very English/British!

Theatre review: Birdsong
http://nick730.livejournal.com/477943.html
“Wraysford is played by Ben Barnes, who’s pretty and competent but utterly lacking in charisma” :(

September 24th, 2010

DW said:

Yeah, that’s an unfortunate review. I’m sure as the play progresses Ben and Genevieve will develop more chemistry. The book is pretty graphic with sex and war violence; that would be hard to translate to the stage without being over-the-top!

Yeah, I always seemed to dig British guys my whole life. Just like everywhere else though, there are gorgeous ones and goofy ones! I’ve been to England a dozen times, and used to check out the fellows in my younger years! My Brit friends here in the US call me more of an Anglophile than they are!

But speaking of Ben’s eye color….unusually dark and mesmerizing!

Yes, like in other country, also in England there are handsome and ugly boys. But, the few times I’ve been there, I noticed a natural-born neatness that I can’t find in some other country (like in Italy, for example). I can be wrong, but this was my impression. I love British style!

i just read the review that Galene posted…i find it hard to believe that he lacks charisma, but i guess everyone has their own opinions

did yall see this quote though?:
“At least Barnes’ return to the West End adds an extra bit of jeopardy – will the leading man make it to the end of the performance, or will he get a better offer and bugger off halfway through?”

OUCH!! that’s harsh (way to bring up the old History Boys controversy! but i dont think Ben would do that again)

Very spiteful phrase (

@Nicole L. and Galene – Yeah, it was a very harsh and spiteful comment… :(
That one was probably the first of many, unfortunately. Gosh, how I hate sensationalism!!

September 24th, 2010

Nightshade said:

Yes, that was a very nasty comment, and quite unnecessary.

That was a few years ago, and one can hardly be surprised that Ben took the risk of dropping out of the History Boys suddenly to take up the chance of the lead role in such a huge film as Caspian, at a time when he was virtually unknown.

***Sending loving hugs to Ben***

(about the link) Yeah pretty much horrid rreview. =(
I hope the play gets better since it’ll be playing until january next year.

Anyway, I really dont care what others say about Ben. He is full of charisma and talent to me. I love all his movies especially Dorian Gray and Bigga than Ben.
And Im sure he is great as a theatre actor. After all, its just a single review from one critic. Im sure others have different opinion, a much better opinion than him.

Since we’ve just been on the topic of ‘Ben’s exceptional physical traits’ ;), I was wondering… What is Ben’s ethnicity? I know his nationality is British but, what is his bloodlines? (Since I am very multiracial, I have always been fascinated by all the different ethnicities in the world- I think its so neat! Whether you are 100% something or 50% or 5% something, I think it’s cool!) from what I’ve read on the Internet, it said he’s part German and Dutch and they use to say he was part Afro Caribbean. He’s never said what he is except that his gran is from Polland? If he is then, I think his thick healthy hair is from his Dutch side- his Dad’s side? And his German side must be from his ‘Mum’ who is blonde… Also his German lines might be why some think he looks like the Kaulitz twins from Tokio Hotel. In the begining I thought he was part Asian because of his interesting eyes but IDK? Its possible that he might be part Afro Caribbean, like Wentworth Miller, who most people think is just white but, actually Wentworth has 10 ethnicities! But then there’s interesting looking people who are only 1 or 3 ethnicities! So I don’t know… What do you guys think? I do not want to offend anyone- I myself am a little bit of everything!- I’m just curious about what ancestry makes up a Ben Barnes ;)
