Tonight I’ve uploaded a couple new Dorian Gray publicity stills to the gallery, as well as replaced a couple MQ stills with higher quality versions. Enjoy!

Serena said:Thanks for the new pics. The strawberry jam on his chest must be from a cut scene since I don’t remember that at all in the movie, even in the montages.

Steelsheen said:aaand theres that infamous slasher scene that got cut. i swear making the DG movie rated 15 was one of the worst mistakes a studio could ever make. Oliver Parker has to come up with a director’s cut because seriously, this movie got killed by the editing.
also i know what they said in the press junket about trying to reach the younger crowd about the morals of glorifying fame and youth, but honestly teens wouldnt be the right target audience for a story like this– their life is just starting and they have youth on their side, what do they care about trying to stay young? arent most trying to pass themselves off for older? DG is written with the older reader in mind, or at least a more matured thinker. *sigh* i just hate great material, and apparently great production, being wasted by a few who makes the lousiest decisions.

Kim said:I agree completely, Steehsheen. The movie was so beautifully shot but poorly edited and Dorian’s downfall wasn’t very believable. Even Ben’s mother made a comment about the lack of nastiness. I hope a director’s cut will be available soon. I’m surprised these scenes weren’t included in the current dvd deleted scenes.

Kim (a different one) said:The stills are gorgeous – particularly love how wonderfully tall he looks in the one with Celia – and that one with Sybil – I just love that scene – so tender – shame about the dodgy editing in the final cut, eh!
On that subject, speaking as a fan who’s seen this film, like 100 times without exagerration, i have to say these scenes are all pretty much in the movie, e.g. the licking fake blood off of a woman’s nipple – you can see damn well that’s what’s happening even without the bits that ended up on the cutting room floor.

I agree Kim, I would like for there to be a director’s cut. I thought that Ben was incredible as Dorian Gray.February 27th, 2010

Tahanka said:Steelsheen you are absolutely right. they should keep those scenes and keep the 18 rate. We could just hope they will release dvd collection with extended version with 18 rate, but not sure, if they want to invest in it

Steelsheen said:@Tahanka, if there is enough of a following for the film, like a cult following similar to what happened to American Psycho, then yeah we’ll probably see an extended/ unrated edition of this. would also help if Ben becomes this insanely huge moviestar and his past films like this one gets high demand. the unrated version for American Psycho was only released after Christian Bale became huge as Batman.

Serena said:Btw when DG start filming and other production where actors were on set? Just curious because Marvel Comics has a DG series out that has a publication date of 2007 with Ben in the role of Basil. But they show him wearing the same costumes and hairstyles that he wore as DG.
