On The Set of ‘The Words’ In Montreal

Ben was spotted on the set of ‘The Words‘ in Montreal, Canada yesterday. They filmed 2 scenes on the top of Mount Royal, which looked to be flashback sequences from the 1940’s or 1950’s. Check out the photos in the gallery!

Oh…you reminded me of Birdsong..It was truly a magic experience, and you were right–he does look nice in a uniform, and it suits him playing these roles actually. Nevermind the small screen time, he’ll make the film brilliant!

@DW YES! The more roles, the better! Just let us see his ‘beautiful face’ on big screen at least once a year! <3 <3

@Steph Thank you, darling, for the new pics! They are lovely! You are always on top of the things! xxx

Thank you for the links, Steph! Who cares if they are blurry, the more we can find out about The Words the better!

@Carlie and @maiamai … oh yes, thank you for bringing up the topic of Birdsong again. They were indeed magical days and I was luckier than most to be able to get to meet Ben many times.

@DW agreed, the more roles he is in, the better – big or small, who cares?

@ Carlie – I reminded myself of Birdsong… *sigh* There was talking of going to London again this autumn and we always see a show. Last year is going to be P-R-E-T-T-Y hard to top.
*sigh* Can´t believe we won´t be able to see that play again!

Thanks again, Steph :o))

Yes, it is sad we won’t be able to see it again… But you know, though I don’t quite remember the play now, every time I reread its script I remember each detail and each movement on stage that night! The memory does store it, sometimes all we need is a little push that can bring the memories back :)

Is the script available for purchase?

You know, I´m rather kicking myself for not filming more now! Though I guess I can´t see how seeing as I was practically sitting next to the sign that said it wasn´t allowed… *blush* But still I wish I had captured a few more.

I wonder if Ben has signed for the Seventh Son or not yet. There seems to be an article on Variety that states he has. Anyway, nice pictures of Ben. Thanks Steph! I don’t see where he is supposedly smoking though. And there are people who look either younger or older than they actually are! Besides, Ben isn’t that old to begin with. :)

@Carlie & Nightshade-yes, wonderful Birdsong memories! Though the play is fading from my memory too, the image of seeing him standing up there onstage above me, speaking so commandingly in his soliloquies will never leave me! When I read the script, I can hear his lovely voice in my head! Sigh! Thanks for the memory girls!

BTW, he is playing a Colombian now in The Wedding! I’m soo excited for all these new roles!

Thanks Carlie!

Actually, I remember the play rather well, I think.
Remember those loooong monologues…? Still impressed by that.

It’s excruciating how he’s in Canada, working in a city so close to Toronto and yet I can’t go see him:\

@ Dina- “smoking” photos are #5, #6, & #7 and look at his right hand. You’ll see a thin white stick that looks like he’s pinching the filter and the burning end is pointed more to himself rather than outwards.

@Mandi
You weren’t the only one that caught the “siggy” in his hand. I noticed it as well.

And as far as how big/small his role is: it’s a role, period. But that Seventh Son film sounds wrong. He is 29, soon to be 30 in a month, I think he should hang up the teenage roles from now on.

ladies, dont worry. i believe he doesnt smoke. i read in one article that he’s not a smoker. he does it only in films. and actors who dont smoke actually use this special type of fake cigarette in scenes where they have to pretend to be smoking.

i believe in that article. ben still looks so young and fresh. smokers easily gets old and their skin is quite not good as compared to non-smokers. we all know that ben has an astonishingly good skin.

seeing the manner he holds that stick makes me think that he’s just doing it for the movie. looking thoroughly at the pics reveals that there was no smoke coming out from the stick. it either means, he’s done smoking or he’s still about to smoke. if he’s done with it, why did he not throw it right away. are there no trash can outside the trailer? if he’s still about to use it, then why not light it outside the trailer. its not reasonable to smoke inside an enclosed trailer. if he will use it sometime later, then why hold that stick that way. its queer to hold a cigarette that way unless your actually smoking. I should know.

Lol, im so obvious! im straining my brains out just to find all the justifications there is to prove that our benny is a healthy guy. But if he’s really a smoker, it wont matter to me at all.

@ Meg

The younger an actor can PLAY the more roles they can go for. For instance if Ben can play a 19 year old AND a 30 year old, that is a vast area in acting business that allows him to get more jobs.

I know because I was an actor and as soon as I couldn’t get the younger roles because I don’t look a day younger than 21, well… parts started getting really thin. It’s an advantage that he’s smart to take.

Oh, I forgot to include that I, to, am the same age as Ben. So it’s all relative. Also Directors LOVE older actors than can play teenage roles because they don’t have to deal with Child Labor Laws.
