Whoa, Caspian is losing the accent in the next Narnia movie? I wonder how that’s gonna turn out!

whoah! wait a sec, slow down there…..

…. the Telmarines lose the accent? wha-huh? with all the efforts they’ve done to establish their culture in PC they just toss it out like it never happened?

and i thought the only thing Caspian lost was his tan…. apparently with the merging of two cultures pretty much everything Telmarine goes bye bye as well.

*groan*

liking or disliking the accent is beside the point, this flies in the face of consistency. if they’ve all been struggling with what kind of accent to use for Telmarines, then just use the standard hispanic/ mexican accent that most of the planet is used to hearing. is that so hard?

makes me kinda wonder if 20th Century Fox played creative director again and put their noses in where it doesnt belong….

i agree with Steelsheen’s post…although i didn’t realize that Caspian lost his tan too, but i guess i wasn’t looking for it lol. I am a little disappointed that the Telemarines aren’t keeping the accents though :(

I do hope that when Ben starts doing promotional interviews for the movie, someone asks him how he feels about the changes (i.e. eliminating the accent) that were made to his character and the other Telemarines, b/c i’d love to hear his take on it.

also, speaking on changes to VDT, I wish they had kept Eddie Izzard as Reepicheep, i thought he was great in PC

I agree with Steelshen and Nicole – I don’t think losing the accent is a good idea… I mean, the accent gave PC a special feel but … oh well…
I didn’t realize the tan was gone either, but that doesn’t bother me that much. I’m a bit sad about the accent though.
Whoa! Eddie Izzaed isn’t Reepicheep any more?? I feel like I’ve been living under a rock.

@ Luna — nope, they replaced him with Bill Nighy (i have nothing against him, but i wished they had been consistent and kept Eddie Izzard)

you can read more about it here —-> http://www.narniaweb.com/2010/02/bill-nighy-the-new-voice-of-reepicheep/
