The UK girls will be so lucky to see this movie in a couple weeks, unlike those of us in the States who are still waiting to hear if it will be released at all. He is so mesmerizing in the role, and in this clip especially where he’s drawn in by the portrait, and his adorable facial expressions. The thing I like about the clip is that it’s subtly supernatural without all the unnecessary special effects that other movies would have during a similar scene. His other charm is how vulnerable he is and that he doesn’t have any clue what he’s doing.

Trisha, thanks for the info. I did a search for info on her and didn’t find much of anything other than she’s an English or Australian actress who has been in a couple projects total. I didn’t figure she was an American porn star since that was the other option under her name according to Google. LOL

I’ve read the book at least twice since it was announced that Ben would be doing this project and there is nothing remotely Christian about Dorian. Alot of other Victorians weren’t either. My impression was that he was so in awe of the painting that he didn’t know how to react, thus Ben’s reactions in character there.

As far as release dates, nothing new yet announced per IMDB.

Also, in the book, there is no hesitation on Dorian’s part to sell his soul and he came across as very arrogant when he did. So that is another area where the film and book differ. Sofar based on the clips and trailer, they’re doing a great job at his character development, taking him from a young naive newcomer to London to the creature he becomes in the end.
