Karl Urban & Ben Barnes Go Into ‘Overdrive’

Another new project! Karl Urban and Ben Barnes have been cast as car-thief brothers in the France-set actioner, Overdrive. Filming begins October 29th.

Karl Urban and Ben Barnes have been cast as car-thief brothers in the France-set actioner Overdrive. Antonio Negret (Seconds Apart) is directing the project, which was written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt.

Pierre Morel, whose kidnapping thriller Taken was a surprise success in 2008, is producing along with Haas and Brandt. Filming begins October 29 in Marseilles.

Urban, who plays Bones in the revamped Star Trek franchise, and Barnes, who plays Prince Caspian in the Chronicles of Narnia series, will play adventurous siblings who find more trouble than they are looking for in the South of France.

Ben Barnes Talks ‘The Seventh Son’

Ben recently spoke with Coming Soon about his upcoming film, ‘The Seventh Son’. The article also mentions that filming of ‘TSS’ will begin in March 2012.

“The plans for this are to shoot in Vancouver and China and some of the artwork just looks incredible,” he told us. “I think it’s certainly going to look pretty special, and I’ve read a couple of the books on which this series is based and they’re pretty engaging. The main draws were Sergei directing it, and Legendary Pictures making it. They make Batman and ‘Inception,’ amazing movies, and to top that off, most of my scenes are with Jeff Bridges, who is one of my favorite actors.”

Lionsgate Acquires ‘The (Big) Wedding’

Lionsgate has acquired US and UK distribution rights to the ensemble comedy, The Wedding. The film will be released in North America on October 19, 2012.

Lionsgate has acquired U.S. and U.K. distribution rights to ensemble comedy ‘The Big Wedding’ from Nu Image / Millenium films.

Lionsgate plans to open the film domestically on Oct. 19, 2012. The announcement was made jointly Tuesday.

Cast includes Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, Ben Barnes and Topher Grace. It’s currently shooting in Greenwich, Ct.

‘Wedding’, written and directed by Justin Zackham, centers around De Niro and Keaton’s characters, a long divorced couple being forced to pretend that they are still happily married at their son’s wedding.
