MTV‘s Larry Carroll just updated on the Twilight sequel “New Moon”:

MTV News has confirmed that 27-year-old “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” heartthrob Ben Barnes is throwing his hat into the ring. The actor is already quite popular with the “Twilight” fanbase and shares the same manager as both Copon and “Twilight” star Cam Gigandet. Barnes is believed to be campaigning for the role of Aro, a mind-reading vampire whose “New Moon” encounter with Edward and Bella helps shape their destiny together. » Read the whole article.

Lucky you. I haven’t seen a white Christmas since my mom moved my sibling and me to Arizona when I was 10. OK. I lied. We did go visit my dad in Pennsylvania during that time of year. There was also this one Christmas I did spend in Arizona where it did actaully snow. There was this fine layer of dusty snow all over the desert floor. The mountains near our house were completely snowcapped. That was a beautiful sight! Where I live in Texas, we don’t get much snow at all. Theonly time school clsoes around here is if we get a freak ice storm and the roads are too slippery to drive on. Texas isn’t as well prepared for ice on the roads as our neighbors to the north. Oh, and I forgot to mention something in my last comment:
Someone (I’m honestly too lazy to find out who) commented that Ben shouldn’t do New Moon because he’ll gain unwanted attention. Let me remind you that Ben will only be holding a SMALL role in the movie, which means that not everybody is going to remember him (unless you’re one of us BB fans). I’m pretty sure they’re gonna be only 1 person on everyone’s mind after the movie: Rob Pattinson. Or maybe Jacob.
I don’t know, but the point is he’s not the hero of the film, so there’s not gonna be much problem with the obsessed fans… Besides, I’m quite sure he knows the hype surrounding Twilight, so if he thinks he’s ready for it, then he IS!
I read in an article (Teen Hollywood, if I’m not mistaken) that Ben knows Rob. It would be nice to see them in a movie together, seeing as I’m a fan of both these actors. Good Luck, Ben!

As for Ben taking on the role, I think it’s a brilliant move. Twilight is the hottest movie franchise right now. If the studio invests enough money and time, it will continue to be at the very top. Good for Ben for wanting to be a part of something that is hot right now. That is the way to manage a career.

Not sure why some fans are upset. It is a small role in a blockbuster film – go, Ben, go! This will allow him some face time that will ultimately garnish him bigger roles.

I know he’ll be The Perfect Aro.

Twilight has on the contrary brought to the spotlight most of the actors in its franchise. I mean, who was Peter Facinelli before Twilight, or Kellan Lutz – i was shocked when i realised he was in Stick It.
