Nine year old Meli, who is battling leukaemia, met actor and heartthrob Ben Barnes, on the set of the film The Picture of Dorian Gray which Ben is currently filming at The Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London.

Starlight asked Ben if he would help realise little Meli’s dream which is to appear as an extra on the film set of a period drama. Ben said, “It was a joy to have lively Meli on set and help grant her wish.”

About the little girl with leukemia, it’s great what he did. I hope she gets rid of the disease soon and lives a long long life. Poor little thing, she’s incredibly courageous. I’m not even sure I could deal with something like that.

Aww…. What a great guy! My husband’s nephew died of complications due to luekemia. He was only 15. His wish was all about acting as well. Met Val Kilmer and many other actors at some award show. So long ago, I cannot recall the exact details. Thanks to Ben for taking the time out of his busy schedule to do this for the girl. Rock on, Ben!

Awwwww to the little girl! That is so sweet of both Ben and Colin and shows that while most of Hollywood would never do such a thing without some kind of reward for themselves in turn, those two are so down to earth and humble which is such a rarity in their line of work.
